March 2006:
This month has been extremely busy. It seems to be electronics
month. Radar, GPS systems, depth sounders and fish finders, satellite
radio and stereo systems. I have to say that the guys just amaze me
sometimes. Rickie is our resident radar, GPS and depth sounder
expert. He has quite a bit of knowledge and training in this area.
Michael JR. and Jesse do satellite radio and stereo systems like they invented
them. This month we did installations for boats that have been
sold and are heading out into the "big lakes" and the ocean as well as
several satellite stereos for boaters staying here. Michael Sr. has been
busy with our Kohler generator sales and installation. Our customers
come from all over the United States. Pearl and I manage to keep all
of the orders and billing and shipping under control. We have also got the
spring uncover schedule ready, our recycle roll off for shrinkwrap has been
ordered. The work order pile has been sorted by launch schedule and
priority of repairs needed. It won't be long now until we hear the
sound of the first boat starting up.
February 2006: Work, work, work - even though Jesse makes hauling
sterndrives around the yard in the winter look like an adventure. I'm sure
he has some comments about that. Here is his patented Four wheel Bravo III
hauler 
. I guess we need to use the post office slogan "neither rain,
sleet or snow will stop us...". We just do what ever it takes to get
all the work done. In between all of our work the guys have been busy
trying to put a fresh coat of paint on the walls in the shop. There
just aren't enough hours in the day and days in the week. Boats have moved
in and out of the shop at a steady pace. I bet you thought we all just
hibernate here all winter. Only a month to go to start the mad rush of
spring launch.
